AgriCapture Joins MillPont Environmental Trust Infrastructure to Eliminate Double Counting in Environmental Markets

NASHVILLE, Tenn., January 22 – AgriCapture is proud to announce its membership in the MillPont Environmental Trust Infrastructure (METI), reinforcing its commitment to mitigating the risk of double counting environmental assets and advancing environmental markets for land use categories.

As a geospatial clearinghouse, METI provides secure and verifiable digital deeds for sources of environmental outcomes and ecosystem service claims. This ensures trust, transparency, and market alignment for environmental claims across sectors.

Through the METI platform, AgriCapture can confirm that enrolled fields are not associated with other programs, ensuring that environmental assets are uniquely claimed and verified.

“At AgriCapture, transparency is the cornerstone of our approach. METI’s platform strengthens our ability to deliver unique, verifiable environmental assets, reinforcing trust in our agricultural carbon credit programs,” said Tyler Hull, President of AgriCapture.

AgriCapture’s Rice Methane Reduction Project generates high-quality emissions reduction credits for U.S. rice farmers who implement methane-reducing and water-saving practices. These practices have achieved a 70% reduction in methane emissions and conserved over 9 billion gallons of water to date.

By collecting detailed field data, quantifying environmental benefits, and reporting emissions reductions, AgriCapture ensures the integrity of its credits, which are third-party verified and issued by the Climate Action Reserve. Partnering with METI adds an additional layer of assurance that environmental outcomes are unique and credibly claimed.

“AgriCapture’s leadership in sustainable agriculture aligns perfectly with METI’s mission to foster trusted, transparent markets for environmental claims. We’re proud to support AgriCapture’s work in advancing climate-smart solutions for agriculture,” said Dominic Sutton-Vermeulen, CEO of MillPont.

Among a leading and growing network of project developers and digital platforms connecting to METI, AgriCapture is committed to enhancing the transparency and integrity of nature-based solutions and environmental markets. This partnership marks a significant step forward in addressing double counting concerns and driving market maturity.
