Rice is the most consumed food worldwide, feeding over 3.5 billion people every day. However, traditional flooded rice systems use significant amounts of water and contribute roughly 12% of global methane emissions.
AgriCapture’s Global Rice Methane project is scaling sustainable rice production across Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. In partnership with local organizations that understand regional farming systems, AgriCapture provides farmers with tailored technical assistance while implementation partners collect data directly from the field.
