4 Diamond Ranch will generate conservation revenue through the voluntary carbon market

August 12, 2025 – AgriCapture is partnering with 4 Diamond Ranch (also known as Four Diamond Ranch) to preserve approximately 12,000 acres of native Montana grassland and implement regenerative grazing practices on 6,000 acres. These projects will generate verified carbon credits for reducing emissions and increasing soil carbon.

The partnership includes two carbon projects:

  • Avoided Grassland Conversion: This initiative prevents grassland ecosystem from being developed and converted to cropland, preserving below-ground carbon storage and avoiding greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Improved Grazing: This project incentivizes ranchers to adopt regenerative grazing techniques that sequester carbon and improve long-term soil and ecosystem health.

“We’re proud to steward this land in a way that keeps it healthy for future generations,” said Jim Willis, Ranch Manager of 4 Diamond Ranch in Wilsall, Montana. “Partnering with AgriCapture gives us the tools and support to make meaningful, measurable impact.”

Why Grasslands Matter for Climate

Grasslands store over one-third of the world’s land-based carbon, yet they remain at risk of development and conversion to cropland. When grasslands are converted, the carbon stored in the soil is released into the atmosphere, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions.

By preserving these working lands and improving management, landowners like 4 Diamond Ranch can both mitigate climate change and unlock new economic value.

“We believe that market-driven solutions are essential for scaling conservation efforts,” said Tyler Hull, CEO of AgriCapture. “This partnership empowers landowners to preserve their land while benefiting from new income streams through the carbon market.”

This project is part of AgriCapture’s Grasslands Program, which supports ranchers and landowners in generating additional revenue from third-party verified carbon credits for preserving and improving working landscapes.
